How to Help

We wouldn’t exist without help and support from individuals and organisations. Here are some ways you could support us.

Give money to help our running costs – Although Julian Trust is managed and staffed entirely by volunteers, it currently costs around £1,500 per week to run.

Give food,  Click here for a current list of food items we need. We are open and can accept donations on:

  • Monday evening 8 pm to 10.30 pm
  • Tuesday evening 8 pm to 10.30 pm
  • Wednesday evening 8 pm to 10.30 pm
  • Friday morning 9:30 am to 12 noon
  • Friday evening 8 pm to 10.30 pm
  • Saturday evening 8 pm to 10.30 pm

Please come to our Little Bishop Street entrance and ring the door bell.

Join one of our morning volunteer teams. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after the overnight guests have departed our morning teams clean and tidy the shelter and keep it in good shape, sort donations of food and clothing and other house-keeping tasks. There are no guests at the shelter at this time. We’re currently looking for new volunteers to join existing teams who undertake this vital behind-the-scenes role. If you’re interested please contact us.

Give your skills – managing and running the shelter involves a wide range of services – please contact us if you have something to offer.

Become a Friend of Julian Trust.  You may want to support our work but not be able to participate in our regular volunteer sessions.  If so, why not become a Friend of Julian Trust? Friends are kept up-to-date with all our activities and developments via our Newsletter and other occasional communication. This gives you the opportunity to contribute to our work on an ad hoc basis.  Please email us at to be included in our list of Friends, and let us know of any particular areas of interest or ideas that you may have to help us in the future.
